SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS
The most prominent characteristic in the city may be the North Saskatchewan River Valley. There are over 150 km of trails, 22 parks and numerous lakes. It contains a number of educational and recreational centres, offering visitors a fascinating glimpse of the city's heritage growth and interests. This area is known as the “River Valley Parks”.
Edmonton is host to numerous annual festivals including the International Jazz Festival, the Children’s Festival in June, Capital Ex, Edmonton International Street Performers and Taste of Edmonton, in July, Dragon Boat Festival in August, and the Santa Claus Parade in December.

This is Edmonton’s largest outdoor market, open from May-October, on Wednesdays from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm and Sundays 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Vendors include fresh produce, baked goods, meats, plants and arts and crafts.
